Varres Quest

So me and my buddies are playing Elden ring togheter (seamless co-op) and we are currently stuck at varres quest.
He says we need to use our fingers and so on. Since we have in 15 fingers we tried to do it with the Beast Claw invade. Normal invade in Multiplayer (which doesnt work for some reason) and I tried it on my own without them in my lobby. But even though we tried everything we know of and the interet has to offer we are still stuck and he keeps saying we need to use our fingers.
Has anyone an idea how to fix the problem?
