After some research, I cannot decide between these Deuter and Osprey backpacks for the purpose of everyday school/work, outdoor, and weekend city trips...
Dear all,
Some days ago, I asked in a post for recommendations to replace my current Decathlon NH500 32L, which I really like but need to pull the shoulder straps several times in a day to keep it up.
My requirements for a bag: It should be similar to NH500 32L, which can be used for everyday school/work setings, weekend hiking/outdoor or city trip, and is around 25-30L. The things that are important to me and come to my mind are laptop compartment, good harness/net system for back protection (like the one in Talon 22), the outside pocket for water bottles, and hip belts (like the one in Talon 22) is a plus but not a must.
So combining some recommendations from that post and my personal research on this sub, I more or less come down to these choices:
- Deuter Gigant: Seems to be somewhat "canonical" for this kind of usage
- Osprey Talon 22/26: I tried the Talon 22 at the store today and really like the back harness system and hip belt, but it does not have a laptop compartment
- Osprey Talon Earth (22)
- Osprey Tropos 32
- Osprey Nebula
- Osprey Comet 30
I also have some other questions...
I think Osprey Tropos, Nebula, and Comet are quite similar, so I was wondering what are their differences? They all seem to be fit for everyday and school/office settings?
I'm in Germany and went to a store today, in which Talon Earth sold like 140 euros, which I think from Amazon I can buy like around 100 euros. However, this bag is not on Amazon, so I was wondering that do you have any other recommendations to buy this for people in Germany/Europe?
Thank you for your time!
